Pain Pilgrimage

During hard times, we don’t respite in steely coldheartedness. We find what’s soft and understanding to help us regroup, refresh, and renew for the remainder of the pain pilgrimage ahead.

It’s the tenderhearted and soft-spirited that nurtures. It’s the quiet-minded that honors empathy and sympathy. Exactly what we need to gain strength enough to venture back out, into open water, where the waves are wicked, the smack down dreaded, and the inevitable is inescapable.

Every steel, sturdy emotional ship in the moments before it’s capsized looks to its soft, pliable lifeboat for its best hope of survival.
